Vernon, BC, June 16, 2022 – 4-H BC is thrilled to announce 2022 4-H BC Special Topic Educational Display Contest winners! “Value-Added Products” was the theme for the 2022 Special Topic Educational Display Contest, made possible thanks to sponsorship by First West Credit Union.

This years’ contest theme focused on Value-Added Products and encouraged 4-H members to explore ways to take raw agriculture and food products and transform them into more valuable products through processing or by finding innovative ways to meet emerging consumer trends. In addition to creating an educational display board, all 39 participants were invited to participate in a webinar hosted by First West Credit Union on June 13th featuring guest speakers Jennifer Walsh from the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food speaking about the BC Food Hub Network, and Trevor Moss from the Central Okanagan Food Bank speaking about the Stretchable Soups program.

Congratulations to all 4-H members for their excellent research, displays and participation in this program.
