4-H BC Foundation Board Member: Hannah Meier

My name is Hannah Meier.  I joined the Lone Butte 4-H Club in 2011 as a six year old Cloverbud.  My first project as a junior member was rabbit with my Lionhead named Max.   Max helped me to navigate the concepts of 4-H and what the program had to offer.   I moved on to Sheep then photography, dog, swine and Horse projects.  I found my love for showmanship with both sheep and swine projects.  In 2022 I was successful with my sheep projects winning Grand Champion Senior Sheep Showman, Grand Champion Dry Yearling Ewe as well as Supreme Female sheep, all with my home grown ewe.

During my years as a 4-H member I have participated in club, district and regional communications events, district judging events and helped with many community driven initiatives.   In the last 3 years I have spent time helping members from across our region learn valuable skills in showmanship and grooming of both sheep and swine projects.  My favorite part of 4-H is getting too meet incredible people, expand my knowledge and always getting too learn new things.

From 2021-2022 I was selected to be a 4-H Ambassador from the Central Interior Region and have continued in 2023 as a youth representative on the 4-H BC Foundation board.   I am really enjoying learning the financial aspects of running such a large non-profit organization.

I look forward to seeing where not only my own future within 4H goes but also how the program expands.
