April 2, 2022 COVID-19 Update

Following the announcement from the Provincial Health Officer on Tuesday April 5th, 4-H BC Provincial Council is happy to report that the Provincial Health Order on Gatherings and Events expires Friday, April 8, 2022.

Proof of Vaccination is no longer required to attend any events, whether indoors or outdoors. While this has been longingly anticipated by some, others may continue to be cautious, so it’s important that we respect the choices of people, individual venues or businesses, and one another.

On April 8, 2022 at 12:01 am, restrictions will be lifted:

  • Proof of vaccination will no longer be required under public health order to access businesses, events and services
    • Individual venues, businesses, and event organizers can choose to continue requiring proof of vaccination for entry
    • Federal proof of vaccination is still required for federally regulated travel, like air travel
    • Proof of vaccination will no longer be required for post-secondary student housing

Proof of vaccination will also no longer be required to attend upcoming 4-H BC Provincial overnight programs including: Ambassador Training Weekend, Provincial Communication Finals, Food for Thought, and Senior Members’ Weekend. Proof of vaccination and face mask restrictions still apply to Federally regulated travel, like air travel, which will need to be considered when planning to travel to and from programs.

All members eligible for Food for Thought and Senior Members’ Weekend will receive an email next week with information about the programs, and link to the updated Application Package. Please check the application deadline for your Region and encourage eligible members to apply.

COVID-19 waivers are still required for everyone attending in-person 4-H events. Anyone who has previously signed a waiver does not need to sign a new one. Please have new 4-H Families or guests sign one of the following:

Thank you for your patience during these challenging times.
