Rabbit Haemmorrhagic Disease

As per the attached information bulletin, Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease has been confirmed for a second year in a row on Vancouver Island. The Provincial 4-H Council will be seeking veterinary advice on this matter and considering options at their April 16th meeting. Further information will be circulated following that meeting.

Rabbit activities remain suspended on Vancouver Island and in the Fraser Valley. Rabbit activities in other areas may continue until further notice. All 4-H members should be reminded to follow best practices for biosecurity.

We have been informed that the Animal Health Centre is taking orders for a vaccine shipment in late April, which will be the only shipment for the year. Veterinarians can enquire by contacting the Animal Health Centre directly at 604-556-3003 or 1-800-661-9903.
