Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award

We are very pleased to announce 4-H BC is accepting nominations for the Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award. This award will be presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond what is expected of them in terms of community, agricultural involvement and if appropriate, participation in 4-H. The award will be announced at the 4-H BC Leadership Symposium virtual workshop day October 17th. The recipient will receive a trophy as well as a complimentary attendance to the 2021 4-H BC Leadership Symposium.

The Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award honours the legacy of two generous people and reflects the profound impact they had in their community. Throughout their lives, the Barichellos were actively involved in the 4-H community and were committed to many projects that improved the lives of others while also providing leadership whenever needed. Ralph and Mae held an impressive number of roles within their community which included; leading the Langley 4-H Jersey Club for over 25 years, maintaining a position as Chairman for the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) 4-H committee and dairy committee, president of the BC Agriculture Council, serving on the Township of Langley, serving as a Returning Officer in Langley, as well as being involved in their local church in a variety of different roles. Ralph and Mae’s contributions have provided a legacy of improving their community while also creating positive relationships within the agriculture sector. Values such as these are what we would like to celebrate by recognizing individuals who give back to their community through serving, supporting and a committing to the betterment of others.
