4-H BC Presents: Urban Online Cooking 4-H Program 

4-H BC is proud to have Chefs Bonnie Jarvis & Hiro Amano back during this Spring Break to bring their kid-approved program straight to your homes!

Join us online for this program, where you’ll learn a variety of culinary skills, cook & taste recipes from all around the world, and explore BC’s agricultural bounty.

There are two starting dates to choose from, March 29th or May 3rd.  Sign up for one or both sessions.

The program is open to all chefs in Grades 4~7. If you have never cooked before or already are a seasoned sous chef in your home kitchen, this program is for you. See you soon, chefs!

WHEN:  Sessions run every Wednesday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm for 5 consecutive weeks

Session 1  - March 29 to April 26.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Session 2 - May 3 to May 31.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

WHO?:

  • Youth in Grades 4 ~ 7, no cooking experience required
  • Adult supervision is required
  • Limited to 50 participants per session

WHAT DO I NEED?

  • Access to a home kitchen with a stove & oven
  • Basic kitchen equipment, including pots, pans, & hand tools. A list of necessary equipment will be sent out each week.
  • Ingredients for each week’s recipes. A list of required ingredients will be sent out a week prior to each lesson.
  • Internet connection and a device capable of accessing Microsoft Teams

WHAT WILL I BE DOING / LEARNING?

  • Learning to use different kitchen tools in a safe manner
  • Cooking recipes from around the world alongside the Urban Online Cooking 4-H Club Chef instructors.
  • Learning about BC Agriculture, and cooking with variety of BC grown foods

COST:

  • $75 registration fee
    • Welcome package with some of our favourite kitchen tools will be sent to all registrants
  • Up to $150 for Cost of ingredients. Each week includes dessert, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack recipes, designed to feed about 4 people.

WHAT ABOUT ALLERGIES AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

  • We can accommodate most common allergies and dietary restrictions and will suggest appropriate ingredient substitutions
