4-H British Columbia Provincial Scholarships
Provincial and National 4-H Scholarships ranging in value from $500 to $10,000 will be available to 4-H British Columbia members pursuing a post-secondary education in the coming school year.
Open to all 4-H members who are completing grade 12 (or have completed grade 12), have not previously received a provincial 4-H scholarship, are planning to enroll in post-secondary education by December 31st annually, have achieved in 2 years within the last 3 years in 4-H and have been registered as a 4-H member within the last 2 years are encouraged to apply.
The application deadline for all Provincial awards is April 15 annually. Unless other indicated, all applicants must complete and return the scholarship application, found in the Opportunites Guide & Applications Publication #129 (Please see Resources/Publications) and send all required documents to the 4-H British Columbia office.
NEW - First West Credit Union Scholarship
4-H BC is thrilled to announce that First West Credit Union will now be offering a new $1500 Provincial Scholarship, available to an eligible 4-H BC member. Priority will be given to applicants in the Fraser Valley, Thomson/Okanagan, and Vancouver Island regions.
Application deadline for all 4-H BC Scholarships is April 15th. Applications can be found in the ‘Opportunities Guide and Application Package’, Publication 129, starting on page 21.
4-H British Columbia Foundation Scholarship
- Number of Awards: One
- Value: $1,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
- For use at University, Technical, or Vocational School in any field of study
BC Youth in Agriculture Foundation Scholarship
- Number of Awards: Two
- Value: $2,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
- For use at University in any field of study.
Chernoff Family Foundation Scholarships
*Two years of studies required
- Number of Awards: Three
- Value: $5,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
- For use in any field of study at any university
- This scholarship will be renewed for a second year for a total value of $10,000
- Number of Awards: Five
- Value: $1,000
Application Deadline: April 15 annually
For use in any field of study at trades, technical or diploma courses. This scholarship will be renewed for a second year for a total value of $2,000.
Wim Zylman Agriculture Memorial Fund
- Number of Awards: One
- Value: Minimum of $750
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
Priority will be given to second year students with a farming background enrolled in an agriculture diploma program at a post-secondary institution.
Annie Zylman Agriculture Memorial Fund
- Number of Awards: One
- Value: Minimum of $750
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
Priority will be given to student going into trade or agricultural studies program.
Saanich Fruit Growers’ Association Scholarship
- Number of Awards: 1
- Value: $2,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
- Number of Awards: 2
- Value: $1,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
Criteria:
- For use at University, Technical or Vocational School in any field of study
- For use for trades, technical or diploma courses in any field of study
- Priority will be given to students enrolled in an agriculture program
This scholarship(s) shall be for one academic year and may be renewed at the discretion of the Selection Committee upon re-application by the recipient.
BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship
- Number of Awards: 1
- Value: $1,000
- Application Deadline: April 15, 2021
Criteria:
- Two years achieved in the 4-H BC Program
- Has been a 4-H BC member within the last six years
- Is enrolled or planning to be enrolled in a university Teacher Education Program in BC
- Shows a strong interest in using agriculture to teach their chosen subjects or grade level (s)
- For use in post-secondary education training in the field of Teacher Education
BC Young Farmers Scholarship
- Number of Awards: One
- Value: $500
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
- Must be enrolling in an agricultural based post-secondary program
Richard Fatt Memorial 4-H Scholarship
- Number of Awards: Two
- Value: Maximum of $4,000
- Application Deadline: April 15 annually
Criteria:
For use at University, Technical or Vocational School in any field of Agriculture with full time course load annually.
Priority to first time applicants in the following order: (1) South Malahat 4-H members (2) Vancouver Island Region 4-H members (3) all other 4-H District and Region 4-H BC members.
Aubrey & Barbara Searle 4-H Scholarship

For use in any field of study at any University, Technical or Vocational School
For use in any field of study at any trades, technical or diploma courses.
Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Alumni Scholarship

Criteria:
For enrollment in an agri-foods program at a qualifying institution.
Must have been registered as a 4-H member within the last two years.
Preference given to first time applicants in the following order: (1)Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Club applicants, (2) Salmon Arm District applicants, (3) Kamloops Okanagan 4-H Region applicants, (4) Applicants from all other 4-H districts and regions in British Columbia.
Of special note:
The recipient will be notified in June, however the official public winner announcement will be made at the Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Annual Banquet in the Fall.
