Start a 4-H Club Today!
All it takes is six enthusiastic members, one screened and trained leader, and one screened volunteer! Together, you’ve got the perfect team to jump in and ‘Learn to Do by Doing.’ And with the incredible support of the 4‑H British Columbia community behind you, getting started couldn’t be easier — it’s as simple as 1‑2‑3!

Step 1 | Reach out to the 4-H BC Office
Reach out to the 4-H BC Office to discuss what type of club you would like to start and to get the contact information for the District Key Leader in your area.

Step 2 | Build your Leaders Team
Establish a strong foundation of support by recruiting two or more screened and registered adult leaders or volunteers aged 22 or older. Every club must have at least one trained 4‑H leader and one screened volunteer.

Step 3 | Sponsors and Projects
Secure an official 4‑H club sponsor and select at least one 4‑H BC project to offer your members.

Step 4 | Gather your Members
Each club needs at least six young people between the ages of 6 and 21 who are excited to learn, grow, and participate in hands‑on experiences.

Step 5 | Events and Activities
Each club may set their own calendar of events and activiites for the year as long as they include the following 6 minimum required elements: Club Meetings ran by 4-H members, Communications, Judging, Project Work, Safety Education & Achievement Day.
