Club Reporter: Okanagan Shuswap Lamb Club News Report

Hello everyone welcome to the Okanagan Shuswap Lamb Club news report, today we had our Communications day February 28 2026 starting out with Lincoln T. the MC (master of ceremonies) Thanking everyone for coming.  Lincoln T. kept us laughing in between all the presentations. 

Then Janica H. gave a stunning speech talking about the reason horse slaughterhouses shouldn't be shut down in Canada followed by Neil H. doing an interesting Junior speak and show about his model mini farm. Emily A. did a fascinating senior speech about Support on leashes talking about hearing dogs, mobility assistance dogs, medical alert dogs, psychiatric service dogs and their help in the lives of people with disabilities.  

Next Isla S. presented a Junior speak and show, telling us all about quarter horses and their amazing ability to do cutting. Afterward Hannah P. put on a captivating speech about black bears and their amazing role in Canada's environment. 

Following our first set we had snacks and time to set up our next speak and show and speeches.  

After the short break Eden M. talked about sheep to scarf in her Senior speak and show, explaining the different stages of wool and all about wool. After that Clara H. explained all about the Welsh Mountain pony and their amazing ability to do many different things including harness racing, in her Junior speech.  

Next Anya T. did an interesting Senior speak and show about how to braid a horse's mane in button braids. Clara M. put on an amazing Junior speech about Morgan Horses, their history, versatility, color and build. Last but not least Caleb M. did a senior speak and show and showed us all about a Gravity fed irrigation system. I think it was very interesting. 

Our Winners today starting with Junior Speak and show was Neil H. placing in second and Isla S. placing first congrats to them both.  In our Senior Speak and show Caleb M. was placed third Anya T. placed second and our winner was Eden M. In third place for junior speeches was Hannah P., in second place was Clara H. and our winner was Clara M. congratulations to Junior Speak and show winners we are not done yet, in second for our Senior Speeches, We have Janica H. and our proud winner is Emily A.  At the end of the day we had our Senior impromptu’s the subject was on whether you think AI is an advantage or disadvantage to the environment.
